Desire2Learn, Canvas, & Blackboard - Oh My

Lately I have been hearing about Blackboard (Bb) customers looking at Desire2Learn (D2L) and Instructure's Canvas products. While I understand the need to know what else is out there, I do not understand why people do not truly evaluate the other products fully.
